Beaumont United Students Make Valentines for Hospitalized Kids

This Valentine’s Day, students from one of Beaumont United High School’s organizations, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), made sure every pediatric patient at their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital got plenty of valentines. The kindhearted students visited CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth where they made cards and passed out goody bags to children in the hospital.

JAG is an organization that helps young people stay in school through graduation, pursue additional education, and secure quality jobs leading to career advancement opportunities. While the students were making Valentine’s Day cards, the clinical staff was asked to speak about their careers and took questions from the students. With clinical staff ranging from Lamar University Nursing students who are just getting started to experienced nurses and doctors, the JAG students received great insight on what a career in the medical field entails.

Thank you to Ms. Cormier for bringing the JAG students to visit our pediatric patients and we hope to see them come back soon as nursing students!
