What Do Kids in the Hospital Need?

Thank you for your generous thoughts of donating to the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Child Life Program. Ashley Bares, Certified Child Life Specialist, works in St. Elizabeth’s Emergency Room, Day Surgery and Pediatric departments to provide developmental, educational and therapeutic interventions for children undergoing medical treatment. Child Life services help children effectively manage stress, which reduces the need for potentially dangerous sedatives and pain medications and helps children heal faster with less long-term psychological effects.

Without donors like you, our Child Life program couldn’t provide various activities and toys to our pediatric patients during their hospital stay.  As an extra “Thank You” for your donation, we will be happy to provide you a tax deduction form.

We ask that all donated items be brand new, latex free, age appropriate, and easy to clean and sanitize so that we can use them to their fullest potential. Hearts indicate our pediatric patients’ favorite items.
