“As a kid, I wanted to explore every inch of the world — on a snowboard, when possible. But then I contracted bacterial meningitis. My kidneys shut down. My spleen burst. Both of my legs were amputated below the knees. Everyone told me I would never snowboard again. But, I didn’t give up on my dreams. I medaled in the Paralympics.
