Beanie Baby Blessing
After helping her parents move to assisted living, Patti Bobbitt and her family were sorting through some belongings when they came across an extensive collection of TY Beanie Babies. Patti’s mother, Willie, collected beanie babies for several years and kept them in a display case in her home. The collection features a variety of animals and limited edition bears all in mint condition with tags attached. Collecting beanie babies brought joy to Willie’s life and she wanted to make sure they continued to bring joy to others.
Patti packed up the beanie babies and began searching for an organization that could use the donation. She had settled on giving them to a hospital in Houston, but she saw something on Facebook that changed her mind. One of her friends shared a link to an article about toys that can be donated to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals in Southeast Texas.
The Bobbitts decided to use their donation to help sick and injured kids in their hometown by donating the beanie babies to their local CMN Hospital.
About a week before Christmas, Patti and her son, Cory, delivered over 500 TY Beanie Babies to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital. “We are overjoyed to receive this donation, ” said Melissa Conley, CMN Program Manager at the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Foundation. “These beanie babies will bring joy and a sense of comfort to every kid who gets one. I can’t thank the Bobbitts enough for thinking of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals when making this generous donation.”
