Blood Donors Share Life and Send Hugs to Hospitalized Children

The LifeShare Blood Center has a special relationship with CHRISTUS hospitals. They provide our patients with the gift of life on a daily basis. Recently, anyone donating blood at a LifeShare Blood Center had the opportunity to write a special message that would be attached to a stuffed animal and given to a child in a local hospital.

“Blood donors always provide a meaningful gift—often life-saving or life-changing, but they usually don’t get to send a personal message with it. The bears are an extra opportunity to brighten a child’s day, while giving the blood donor an avenue to share their wishes along with their gift of life,” says Tina Martinez, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Center.

Pediatric patients at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth have been blessed with a donation of bears from LifeShare and, on their behalf, we are sending a great big bear-hug back to you! Thank you to those of you who took the time to donate blood and write a personal message to one of our pediatric patients.
